Experiencing a Reiki Session
A Reiki treatment usually lasts sixty minutes. The Reiki practitioner places his/her hands gently and passively on different locations on the body, usually beginning at the head. Each position is held for at least five minutes. Reiki is different from traditional massage because the person remains clothed. Unlike massage, Reiki does not require any form of manipulation of tissue or muscle so the hands remain still. Reiki will even flow through a plaster cast. It is common for the person being treated to experience sensations such as warmth or tingling flowing from the Reiki practitioner's hands. Most people report entering a very deep state of relaxation. Those familiar with meditation say they enter a deep meditative state. The mind calms, the breathing slows down, and a feeling of well-being and centeredness and a better sense of perspective is attained. By receiving a one-hour session of Reiki, one physiologically attains many of the benefits equivalent to three to four hours sleep, such as increased oxygen supply to the blood and cells. This clinical observation, combined with the meditative state, makes Reiki a most effective natural stress reliever. Regular use of Reiki leads to an increase in general vitality and well-being and a sense of inner peace. It greatly accelerates and promotes the healing process and regeneration of tissue, and is capable of improving the quality of one's life to an amazing degree.

Reflexology: A natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes on the hands and feet which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body. Through the application of pressure on these reflexes, Reflexology can relieve tension, improve circulation and help normalize functions of the related areas of the body. It is believed that Reflexology was practiced two to four thousand years ago in India, China and Egypt and appeared in North America about 75 years ago. Therapist Linda Dorge
Hypnotherapy: An ancient art of communicating with the Unconscious Mind. The Hypnotherapist assists the individual to enter into a dream-like state. For centuries, human kind has been using altered states of consciousness to assist in bringing healing and balance to the Body, Mind & Spirit. It is in this experience that the Unconscious Mind releases limiting beliefs, habits and emotions. Hypnotherapy is a highly effective way to create deep long term change. This is a very empowering process, and since all learning, all behavior and all change is unconscious, and the mind & body affect each other, hypnotherapy has been very successful with a wide variety of health and emotional issues. Some benefits of hypnotherapy include increased motivation, a healthier flow of energy, greater confidence and self-esteem, smoking cessation, weight loss, habit control, as well as the resolution of deep psychological issues among others. Therapeutic
Touch is a contemporary interpretation of several ancient healing practices
that was developed in the early 1970's by Dolores Krieger Ph.D., RN. and Dora
Kunz , a natural healer. The basic assumption is that in a state of wellness
"life energy" flows freely in, through, out and around us in a smooth and
balanced manner. In the presence of things like illness, injury, pain and
anxiety, this natural flow of energy is interrupted or altered. From a quiet,
centered state of mind, the practitioner assesses the clients energy field and
uses calm rhythmic hand movements to facilitate a more symmetrical and
rhythmic energy flow. The practitioner may feel sensations such as tingling,
heat, cold, fullness or emptiness and these sensations will provide some
direction as to what could be done to make the energy field more balanced.
It might be pulling off energy where it is built up or directing energy to
where it feels empty or smoothing it where it feels even. Therapeutic
Touch elicits a deep relaxation response and as a result it is often very
effective to help control both acute or chronic pain. It decreases anxiety and
usually helps the client get a good nights sleep. Research has shown that
Therapeutic Touch speeds up the healing process and is therefore helpful for
wounds and fractures. Therapeutic Touch boosts the immune system and
facilitates the body's own natural healing abilities. Most importantly this
gentle treatment usually takes the client into a calm meditative state where
they can more easily access their own inner wisdom.

Iridology & Nutritional Counselling: Proclaimed through the ages as the "windows to the soul, the eyes are now acknowledged as mirrors of the body and likened to miniature television screens recording the condition of the various organs and tissues throughout the body. The health analysis is made through a careful examination of the different markings and pigments in the iris which reflect hereditary tendencies and genetic strengths and weaknesses. The iris records information about the state and functioning of every organ in the body as well as levels of inflammation and toxicity. This enables the underlying cause(s) for symptoms we may experience to be detected and removed using naturopathic remedial programs specific to each person’s needs. Therapist Linda Dorge
Yoga: A holistic system for the benefit of the body, mind, emotions, and spirit. Yoga teaches self-awareness through a series of exercises, breathing techniques, postures, relaxation, and meditation. The word yoga means "union," and in the largest sense of the word means being at one, at complete harmony, with one’s self and everything and everyone in creation. The many schools of yoga are differentiated by their approach - whether; for example, whether they place the emphasis on breathing, meditation, posture, relaxation, or spiritual aspects.
