I have been on a journey of personal growth for over 40 years, and I must say the journey has been incredible. I have always been blessed by spirit always opening doors and sometimes persistently guiding me through them. I used to think that if we made up our mind to change or behave differently, it would happen... I knew that didn't work for me, but I just thought that I was the weird one with no will power. On my quest to discover the secret of change, I started delving into hypnotherapy, guided visualization, bio-energetics, and other methods of non traditional emotional healing through training from Therese Chatelaine, Bennet Wong, Jock McKeen, Catherine Holmes, and Lar Short to name a few. It was while I was a social worker at the Child Guidance Clinic that I met Tad James and deepened my training in Hypnotherapy and Neuro-linguistic Programming.
My journey also led me to open a Wholistic Healing center in west Winnipeg with a partner. We offered Hypnotherapy, Acupuncture, Massage Therapy, Iridology, and Reflexology along with a small store and Juice Bar. Once again Spirit stepped in and I was offered the opportunity to do Therapy and Training in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
In my private practice I have been gifted with the opportunity to travel and work in many places around the world, including Davis Inlet in Labrador, Edmonton, Washington State, Hawaii, London England and Dubai among others and I was blessed with meeting and working with many loving and caring people.
My focus has always been on therapy. I wanted to discover how to help people actually change the limitations that we place on ourselves. How can we change our habits, handle our addictions, change our attitudes? I came to understand that it is our Unconscious Mind that controls our habits and behavior.
My belief is that at our core everyone is positive, happy and loving and it is through our life experiences that we lose touch with that core. We start to think that we are not good enough, smart enough, handsome enough. I believe it is the job of the therapist to help our clients to rediscover their true self.
My greatest learning is that it is not the destination but the journey that is the most important part in life, and if I were to give you all one gift today, it would be for you to enjoy your journey as much as I am enjoying mine.
